Indeed, Happy Thanksgiving, all!
As I reflect on the last couple of years, I look back on how my family and friends are doing and I am happy for all of them. Call me sentimental, but I find myself looking forward to the time I will get to spend with everyone and hearing about everything they have happening in their lives. I have a new understanding of the old saying “Life is short.” Before you know it you wake up one day and look around and think, “Where did it all go?” It’s my hope that you have something you’re proud of to show for it, be it an accomplishment, or a nice big family, or whatever.
In essence, we are all in this together and it’s important that the overlap in our lives is both meaningful and productive. This has me thankful for certain things, personally.
I am thankful, therefore, to know that everyone is okay and hanging in there. Everyone has their own plan in life, and I’m personally lucky to have found a means to be able to tell wild stories just for the fun of it. Hopefully as time goes on and my skill level improves, I’ll run into someone who read one and goes, “Yeah, that was cool.” For me that’s the big payoff, and I’m happy to have family, friends, and anyone else who wants to come long for the ride.
I’m also thankful for my Pack, because there is nothing on the planet as pure as the love from my dogs. I can’t say anything about them that isn’t already covered by a cliche in a dog calendar, but suffice it to say that it’s all true, and they are my treasures in this life (especially the symphony of snores when they are all laid out on the floor).
So, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there as you reflect on your own treasures and families, and I wish you many more happy Thanksgivings to come.
